Dog is having stomach problems, farting and eating grass excessively?

I just had the same problem with my dog and they had to do surgery to remove a very large clump of grass. He was very lethargic and having problems going to the bathroom (#2). They really couldn't tell what it was in his stomach through the x-rays, but knew something was in there. I know you can't take her to the vet, but maybe the owners can.
