Guys: If you have ever liked/loved a girl answer this.?

I don't get any butterflies, but I feel awkward has hell when I see her. I don't have her in my mind indefinitely, but every now and then she'll sort of float past in my thoughts. I definitely play out scenarios in my head. I keep on imagining asking her out, but then it bounces back and suddenly I feel a lack of confidence. It always ends in me assuming I'll be stuck in the friend-zone, and I just think, "**** it."
